The African American Success Initiative aims to educate all students for success by eradicating the achievement gap and increasing access to opportunities for students of color in the Dallas Independent School District by exposing them to various types of colleges and universities and engaging students in conversations about their goals and futures.
AASI is a grant-funded program aimed at assisting students of color at Title One campuses in Dallas ISD.
AASI focuses on educating and inspiring all students to further their education while encouraging high academic achievement. The overarching goal of the AASI is to provide a glimpse of the possibilities available to students of color after achieving a higher education degree.
In addition to initiating conversations about college and career readiness, AASI focuses on academic achievement, social and emotional development, cultural diversity, community partnerships, parent and family engagement and student advocacy for students.
