Bachelor degree in Communication, Minor in Education

Sean-Michael Cohn

I served in the United States Navy active duty for five years after high school. Afterwards I then joined the reserves and have continued to serve in the Navy reserves to this day. I attended the University of North Texas, after my time serving active duty, where I received my bachelor degree in Communication studies and minored in Education. Before becoming a proud Patriot I got my first teaching position at Creekview High school in CFBISD. I was the head speech and debate coach and teacher at that school for two years. I lead a speech team there two years in a row taking them to State and Nationals. My classroom environment is one that promotes a better future for my students while at the same time creating a feeling of trust and understanding in the room.

I teach Sociology and Psychology here at TJ. I graduated from the University of North Texas in 2008 with a B.A. in Sociology, Minor in Business. I previously worked with youth in the non-profit world, and that led me to teaching. I spent two years teaching middle school, and this is my third year teaching high school at TJ. My classroom is a warm and welcoming classroom. I try to make it fun and relatable to the students' lives.
