  • I am an alumni of University of North Texas where I proudly marched and played clarinet with the world renownwed Green Brigade. I earned my Bachelors of Music in December of 2001. After graduating I began my career in Big Spring, Texas where I team taught over 300 band students. Those students competed at local and state competions and earned Superior Ratings. I came to Dallas ISD in 2006 where I assisted directing the Skyline Raider Band for 2 years. I then went on to direct the Woodrow Wilson band for 2 years and then was led to direct here in the Seagoville cluster. I spent 5 years rebuilding the Seagoville Middle School Band and the parent particpation. The SMS Band earned a 1st Division Rating at Concert and Sight Reading and those 8th graders went on as SHS Freshman who then earned a 1st Division Rating at Marching Evaluations that Fall. After a few years and I was blessed to be asked by SHS band parents and students to come to SHS to rebuild here. 2019-2020 is my 5th year st SHS and I am proud of my students who earned a 2nd Division Rating at Marching Evaluations in Fall 2019. The SHS Dragon Pride Band is still in the stages of rebuilding and I am proud of all my students.

Many of my students from Big Spring and Dallas have gone on to various successful careers including: teaching, careers in music, or dedicated themselves to serving our country. Two former students have even won Grammy Awards.

I am able to teach all instruments (woodwinds, brass and percussion) but my specialty is wind instruments. I teach Modern Band classes and I am involved with Little Kids Rock in tandem with Mr. Rodney Dittmar.

My wife Stephenie (also a UNT Alumni) and I have been happily married since 2007. We have two sons, Dane and Denzel. Our boys are both exceptional musicians and scholars. We live in Oak Cliff with our dog Bleek and cat Stinkee.
