    Alex Karigan Farrior graduated summa cum laude with a B.F.A. in Dance Performance from Southern Methodist University and an M.F.A. in Classical & Contemporary Dance with a Graduate Certificate in Gender and Women's Studies from Texas Christian University. She was Associate Artistic Director of Dark Circles Contemporary Dance (TX) and company member from 2014-2018. Other professional credits include: Amy Marshall Dance Company (NY), BODYART (NY), ModArts Dance Collective (NY), and Bruce Wood Dance Project (TX). Alex was featured as the “On the Rise” dancer in the December 2015 issue of Dance Magazine. In addition to performing, Alex has collaborated with renowned dance photographer, Lois Greenfield. She is featured in Ms. Greenfield's calendars and book, Lois Greenfield: Moving Still. As a dance educator, she has been an Adjunct Professor at Texas Christian University, and guest teacher at Southern Methodist University, University of North Texas, Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy, DISD Summer Dance Intensive, The Hockaday School, among other institutions in the private sector in DFW. She is also a member of National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) and has presented her research on critical pedagogy in dance education at the 2014 conference. Currently, she is an instructor at Texas Ballet Theater School Dallas and board member of FurtherDance Fort Worth. At Booker T. Washington HSPVA, Alex teaches Modern and Beginning Repertory.
