The department of Theatre and Film at WT White High School is one of excellence that strives to train its young scholars in acting, musical theatre, movement, technical theatre and film. Each year, students have an opportunity to take Theatre 1, 2, 3/4, Technical Theatre 1, 2, 3/4, Production Ensemble, Musical Theatre and/or Film Studies.
Our aim is to provide young theatre artists with a professional and varied skill set to enter into an excellent performing arts college program or go directly into the field. Our goal is to lay the foundation for the young performer’s technique through classroom instruction, historical reference, repertoire building and production experience.
Our program is also one that supports equity, diversity and inclusion—by providing a safe space to express oneself and discuss social challenges and cultural joys through personal and collective creativity.
