My name is Kellie Paris and I am excited to be a part of the DISD community of educators. I am a native of Dallas, Texas and a proud product of the Dallas Independent School District where I attended Adelle Turner Elementary, W.H. Atwell Middle School and graduated from David W. Carter High School. I received my undergraduate degree from Texas Wesleyan University in Economics and Finance. I earned my teacher certification through Texas Woman’s University and my Masters degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University Commerce.
I have served in DISD for 22 years as a Teacher, Dean of Instruction, Assistant Principal, and Principal of Harrell Budd Elementary, W.W. Bushman Elementary and Julian T. Saldivar Elementary. I have also served in education internationally in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, United Arab Emirates for 9 years as Principal, Cluster Manager and Curriculum Coordinator. In addition, I have worked at all levels, elementary, middle and high school. I have extensive knowledge of the practices, strategies, resources and knowledge required for successful teaching and learning and I have had great success in not only moving a school from low-performing to Recognized status, but also in improving the culture and climate and parent and community involvement. Furthermore, my vast leadership experience in both the United States and abroad has allowed me to gain valuable experience in the field of education, both in a local and in a global international setting. In addition, it has allowed me to engage with, and learn from very knowledgeable and experienced educators from all over the world.
I am an ambitious and hardworking professional, leader, and educator with many admirable skills necessary for success in education. I am a team player in regards to working with leadership teams and I have effectively implemented many positive changes in schools in which there was a very diverse staff in terms of culture and heritage and with varying degrees of educational knowledge and experience.
In addition, I am capable of inspiring students, as well as, teachers to achieve their highest potential. I have always included all stakeholders in the learning process and as participants in the overall progress of the school. It is essential that support for students, student achievement, and student wellbeing be at the forefront of all decisions on our journey to Julian T. Saldivar becoming a “Premier DISD School."
