    Ms. Handy has been teaching students for 29 years and has taught grades k-12 and loves teaching 9th and 10th grade the most. Prior to teaching, Ms. Handy worked as an Adult Probation Officer for Taylor County, then for Tarrant County.  From Adult Probation, Ms. Handy was a Field Agent and performed death scene investigations for the Office of the Medical Examiner.  Ms. Handy was called to teach after seeing too many brown and black young men as probationers, when she was a Probation Officer and way too many black young men as victims of drug related homicides, when she was a Field Agent.   She feels that by serving minority youth as an educator, she may impact them to make better choices where they won't be on the caseload of a Probation Officer or a death scene case of a Field Agent. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, writing, and listening to praise and worship music.
