Henry W. Longfellow Career Exploration Academy

    School Colors: Orange & White
    School Mascot: The Longhorn
Henry W. Longfellow Career Exploration Academy serves students in grades 6-8 selected through the magnet process. The students receive the same basic middle school program offered in all Dallas Independent School District middle schools. However, special focus is placed on the exploration and development of each student's interests and abilities. Additionally, students have opportunities to take a variety of Pre-AP courses for high school credit.
Computer-assisted instruction and special tutoring programs provide excellent opportunities for individualized instruction. The development of self-discipline, self-awareness, and the ability to make positive, realistic decisions are strongly emphasized at all times.
The Henry W. Longfellow Career Exploration Academy was created as part of the Dallas ISD desegregation order. The school is a "free-standing" academy in that the only students who attend school at Longfellow Academy are those accepted into the program.
