School Biography: Piedmont GLOBAL (Global Learning Opportunities through Balanced Academics and Leadership) Academy received its name change in 2016, representing the Piedmont community of Pleasant Grove after a majority of students voted to have the original school name, John B. Hood Middle School, removed. The campus originally opened in 1955 named after the Confederate General who was a young war hero during the Civil War. Piemont GLOBAL Academy now serves approximately 1000 students from the community each school year.
