Students compete in a variety of academic activities against students across the district.

TMSCA
The purpose of TMSCA is to enhance competition in UIL Math & Science contests through grade level and team competition. Contests include Number Sense, Calculator, Mathematics, and Science.

Lone Star Challenge
Lone Star is a theme-based four-event scholastic team competition wherein 4th, 5th and 6th grade students match their intellect with students from other schools. Nine-member teams are comprised of: 3 Fourth Grade Students; 3 Fifth Grade Students; and 3 Sixth Grade Students.

Destination Imagination
The Destination Imagination program is a fun, hands-on system of learning that fosters students’ creativity, courage and curiosity through open-ended academic challenges in the fields of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, fine arts and service learning.

Debate
Students will participate in Dallas Urban Debate Alliance and attend debate tournaments under the World Schools debate format, where they will debate topics related to student interests in an engaged setting.

Chess Club
Students learn to play chess, do chess puzzles, compete in tournaments, and play peers in person or online. No experience necessary. Middle school and elementary will alternate bi-weekly.
