The students of Anne Frank are aware of the importance of giving back to the community that so readily supports their desire to achieve excellence. This awareness is demonstrated through the many service projects and community performances students participate in regularly. Activities such as the annual coat drive, food collection for the homeless, disaster relief projects, and the American Red Cross are just a few of the service projects that students participate in. The choir, Le Voci, performs for adopters, volunteers , and in various community locations.
The Parent Teacher Association at Anne Frank Elementary School is a strong, active, innovative force that links the school and the community. The PTA sponsors many activities such as the Fall Carnival and the Yearbook. It assists in raising funds to benefit the needs of the students. Many parents volunteer their time tutoring students and assisting teachers. Anne Frank's Partners in Education not only provide volunteers for tutoring, but also through donations sponsor many programs such asYoung Audiences and Reading is Fundamental. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm. PTA Board Meetings are held the third Tuesday at 7:30 am.
The Site Based Decision Making Committee consists of representatives from the faculty, staff, parents, and community. Decisions concerning policy guidelines, school programs, budget, staff and instruction are made collaboratively among the council to improve the school. The SBDM team meets the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm in the media center. Please join us in striving for excellence.
Annually, parents and community businesses associated with Anne Frank Elementary will adopt needy families at the school. Their contributions in the form of food, clothing, toys, school supplies, etc. are greatly appreciated.
