    Hello Eagles, 

    My name is Marissa Tavallaee, and I am so excited to be your principal!

    I have been in education for 15 years. I began my career as a Pre-K teacher at a Montessori school for three years, then taught AP Chemistry for five years. I then transitioned to become an assistant principal and am now in my 4th year as your principal!  

    Here, at Jesús Moroles Expressive Arts Vanguard, our students engage in rigorous academics as well as opportunities to explore and expand their creative sides. We offer renowned programs in art, dance, theater, band, orchestra, and piano.

    We are a unique campus with Pre-K through 8th grades and our 4th through 8th grade Vanguard program focusing on the Arts. Our campus culture is one in which everyone feels safe, comfortable, and valued. Our students will grow and learn, and we want our parents and community members to be involved in the success of our school by attending performances, volunteering, and participating in various functions with our PTO. I firmly believe that it takes a village to make a school successful and as such, I look forward to establishing partnerships with our parents and community members. 

    Every student is capable of success, and it is my absolute honor to be a part of their lives. Let’s have a great year everyone!
