With great pride and excitement, I introduce myself as your principal of Benjamin Franklin International Exploratory Academy (BFIEA) for the 2023-2024 school year. I am excited to kick off the new year and am honored to serve the school community, which is built upon a rich tradition of history and excellence.
Originally from the Big Island of Hawaii, I received my bachelor’s degree in Education at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa and my graduate degree in Educational Administration from Argosy University.
I am proudly married to a fellow Dallas ISD employee, Jonelle, and we have a son and daughter, who are now young adults pursuing their dreams for the future.
For the past twenty-three years, I have served as a secondary teacher (7 years), assistant principal (8 years), district administrator (2 years), and campus principal (5 years).
Entering my second year at BFIEA, I look forward to collaboratively leading the school with a focus on creating a world-class educational experience for our scholars. We strive to nurture scholars who are:
Courageous: They take academic risks and are comfortable being challenged. They reframe obstacles as opportunities for growth.
Compassionate: They recognize that success is not just about individual accolades and rewards, but also recognizing the value of serving others. This includes honoring diversity in perspective and culture.
Confident: They recognize they can compete and be the best in their school, community, and the world.
Excellence is truly expected now at BFIEA!
We welcome the opportunity to serve your child and engage in a partnership to make our vision a reality.
Me ke aloha pumehana (Hawaiian for “with warm regards”),
