Dr. Josue Borrego
My name is Dr. Josue Borrego and I am excited to serve you as the Principal of Hall Personalized Learning Academy! Thank you for allowing your child to be part of the Hall Academy family!
A little bit about myself – I began my career as a Reading teacher and boys basketball coach at Moises E. Molina H.S. in Oak Cliff. In 2014, I was elected to the Teacher Focus Group for the Superintendent (Division III) in Dallas ISD. In 2017, after successfully completing my doctoral degree from Dallas Baptist University (K-12 Administration), I transitioned to one of the largest elementary schools in North Texas: Anne Frank Elementary as the ELA Administrator for 2 years, where I was part of the Formative Assessment Pilot Program, helping serve over 1100 students. I was also selected for the Distinguished Assistant Principals Program in 2019- 2020. In 2019 I was promoted to one of the most historic and cultured campuses in Dallas: Woodrow Wilson High School where I served approximately 1,900 students and 160 faculty and staff members, as an Assistant Principal overseeing the English Dept. I was responsible for bringing the Formative Assessment Initiative to Woodrow. As an educator and servant leader, I seek to use my talents to make a difference in the lives of our students.
I would also like to take this opportunity to introduce you to my assistant principals: Ms. Vickie Villarroel & Mr. David Jasso. Ms. Vickie Villarroel has been at Hall for over 15 years in multiple positions; including, teacher, instructional coach and now assistant principal. Mr. Jasso was an outstanding teacher, who was also a Dallas ISD student. He is a first generation college graduate who strives to give back to his community. This leadership team is dynamic and has over 35 years of collective experience as educators. We are proud to be of service to you this year as your administrative team.
We will continue our mission “At Hall Personalized Learning Academy, we empower scholars, families, and our community through holistic, intentional practices. We use rigorous, data-driven instruction combined with mindful social-emotional development to prepare scholars to be problem solvers who can make a difference in our ever-changing world.”
We are grateful for this opportunity to continue building relationships with you and your children. Your administrative team is committed to excellence and we feel privileged to be a part of the Hall community. If we can be of service, please do not hesitate to reach out!
