•  Herschel Carter II M.Ed., Principal     

     
     
    Herschel Carter II is currently the principal of DeGolyer Elementary. Herschel has been serving the students of Dallas ISD for ten years. In 2010, he was accepted into the Dallas Alternative Certification Program. He holds certifications for EC-6, 4-8 generalist, and Principal EC-12. During the 2014-2015 school year, he had the opportunity to work closely with Teaching Trust to grow as a leader. He is an alumni of the Executive Ed Teams cohort 2 as well as Teaching Trust Ed Fellows cohort 3 and Teaching Trust Aspiring Leadership Program. Herschel grew up in Dallas and graduated from Wylie High School in 2002. He graduated Grambling State University in 2007, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. In 2017, he graduated from Southern Methodist University with a masters degree in Education Leadership.

    Herschel’s passion for educating started while mentoring kids during his summers in college. Those experiences ignited his drive to become an educator. He is driven by the belief that every student can achieve given the proper structure and high expectations. Every action is dedicated to inspiring and motivating students to reach their maximum potential. Herschel is called to be a school leader to help shape the path and mindset for the future success of our scholars. His vision is to inspire and motivate the next generation to reach their maximum potential. His mission is to create a learning environment that is as innovative and exciting as the world around us. He values community and believes anything can be accomplished together.
     
     
     
    Herschel Carter II es actualmente el director de la Primaria DeGolyer. Herschel ha estado sirviendo a los estudiantes de Dallas ISD por diez años. En 2010, fue aceptado en el Programa de Certificación Alternativa de Dallas. Posee certificaciones para EC-6, 4-8 generalista y director EC-12. Durante el año escolar 2014-2015, tuvo la oportunidad de trabajar estrechamente con Teaching Trust para crecer como líder. Es alumno de la cohorte 2 de Executive Ed Teams, así como de Teaching Trust Ed Fellows cohort 3 y Teaching Trust Aspiring Leadership Program. Herschel creció en Dallas y se graduó de Wylie High School en 2002. Se graduó de la Grambling State University en 2007, donde recibió su licenciatura en Gestión Deportiva. En 2017, se graduó de la Southern Methodist University con una maestría en Educación de Liderazgo.
     
    La pasión de Herschel por la educación comenzó mientras era mentor de niños durante sus veranos en la universidad. Esas experiencias encendieron su impulso de convertirse en educador. Lo impulsa la creencia de que cada estudiante puede lograr dada la estructura adecuada y las altas expectativas. Cada acción está dedicada a inspirar y motivar a los estudiantes a alcanzar el máximo potencial. Herschel está llamado a ser un líder escolar para ayudar a formar el camino y la mentalidad para el éxito futuro de nuestros académicos. Su visión es inspirar y motivar a la próxima generación para alcanzar su máximo potencial. Su misión es crear un ambiente de aprendizaje que sea tan innovador y emocionante como el mundo que nos rodea. Valora la comunidad y cree que todo se puede lograr juntos.
