    "The Principal"

    Sharron Evans Jackson was born in Forney, Texas and raised in "Sunny South" Dallas. She began her educational journey at T.C. Hassell Elementary, O.W. Holmes Middle School, and graduated from Bryan Adams High School as the first African American student body president and a proud Cougar. She obtained her post-secondary education from Langston University, receiving a Bachelor of Science and Master's degree in Education. She also received a master's degree in Education Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas-Arlington.

    After college, her first teaching assignment was at Colonial Elementary in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She showed immediate promise as a first-year educator, being awarded with "Teacher of the Year" and also being selected to train under Marva Collins in Chicago, one of her educational heroesHer other educational assignments include teaching at Kate Burgess Elementary in Wichita Falls, Texas, ATOP Academy in Phoenix, Arizona and Millwood Middle School in Oklahoma City.

    Her 21-year career with the DISD began in 1999 at Martin Luther King Jr. Learning Center, formerly known as Colonial Elementary. She also served as an educator and leader at Richard Lagow Elementary, Joseph J. Rhoads Learning Center, Assistant Principal at 0. W. Holmes Middle School, John N. Bryan Elementary, and John Ireland Elementary.

    In her role as Principal at O.W. Holmes she serves the students, teacher, staff and community with an intense desire to provide all with a superior educational experience, continuing a tradition of excellence and infusing all she encounters with "Tiger Pride".
