Leader Excellence, Advancement and Development
Our mission is to cultivate leadership that inspires an unwavering commitment to equity and excellence in our schools to ensure all students are career and college strong.
Dallas Independent School District is investing in the future by investing in school leaders. Strong leaders are instructional leaders that help form the foundation of our schools and ultimately impact the success of both our teachers and our students. We firmly believe that great leadership combined with great teaching is the key to student achievement.
In Dallas ISD, teachers make the most difference in student learning. We are committed to ensuring high-quality teaching and learning every day, for every child. From lesson design and delivery to data use and differentiation, instructional excellence is the key to student achievement. We align and master key practices to best facilitate adult and student learning through PLCs, observation/coaching cycles, and the consistent use of protocols/framework and district resources, and define excellence through our Teacher Excellence Initiative (TEI). Through collaboration, we challenge and support each other to best meet the needs of each student while embracing new practices and techniques.
Distributed leadership is our framework to empower, support, and develop others to improve the quality of instruction, increase student achievement and maintain a positive school culture. Distributed leadership leverages collaboration, leader coaching, and personal ownership of results to create solutions-oriented schools focused on our district's mission of success for all. By creating an inclusive culture of shared responsibility, voice, and accountability, all stakeholders thrive.
Values-Aligned Systems & Structures
Aligned to our district’s vision and mission to become a premier urban school district, we create positive and joyful “curb to classroom” experiences to inspire a life-long commitment to learning and a culture of excellence. We educate the whole child through efficient school operations, using restorative practices for discipline, and infusing joy consistently in every interaction.
