Patrice Lane has dedicated her professional career to building schools that create equity for students. She believes that by overcoming the challenges of educational and opportunity gaps, we create schools that better serve their circumstances.
She brings a wealth of experience to the Principalship. Patrice has served as a General Education teacher, a bilingual teacher, a campus instructional coach, and Bilingual Department Specialist, a Fellows Academy Principal intern, and as an assistant principal.
During her career, Patrice has significantly closed academic achievement gaps and implemented systems to support each unique school community. In her second year as a teacher of general education, Patrice became frustrated that she couldn't communicate effectively with her Spanish-speaking parents and committed herself to learning Spanish. Thereafter, she became certified as a bilingual teacher and eventually became a Bilingual Specialist with the Dallas ISD Bilingual Department.
While with the Bilingual Department, she served in the initial group that implemented the first Two-Way Dual Language Programs across Dallas ISD. She also supported campuses by executing professional developments and creating programs to support Dual Language Programs across the district.
Patrice currently serves the 1100 students at Anne Frank Elementary School as an Assistant Principal, where she is most proud of double-digit gains in closing achievement gaps, increasing opt-in enrollment for Two-Way Dual Language by 20%, and coaching teachers to DTR ( Distinguished Teacher Review) status.
Patrice has now joined the Geneva Heights Elementary family as campus Principal. She is thrilled about the opportunity to collaborate with Geneva Heights staff and community to support the vision of empowering all students to be transformational leaders equipped with the skills to become globally-conscious citizens dedicated to lifelong learning.
Patrice enjoys reading, spending time with her two boys, Harrison and Ashwin, and roller skating.
