Bachelor of Science, Nursing - Texas Women’s University
Mrs. Stevie Dodds, BSN, RN
Stephanie “Stevie” Dodds, BSN, RN, was raised in San Antonio, but she has called Dallas home since 1996. Stevie felt called to become a nurse to help children and their families find happy, healthy lives. She graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, an organization whose admission requires both a nomination and a class standing in the top 35%.
Stevie began her nursing career in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) at Children’s Health in Dallas. While at Children’s, she enjoyed helping children and their families navigate their worst days to eventually see better ones. Working in the PICU during the COVID-19 pandemic had its challenges, but it also created important learning opportunities that will remain with Stevie throughout her career. She was also an active member of the Children’s RISE 1:1 peer support committee. This committee trained Stevie to counsel other nurses and staff who suffered from psychological trauma they had experienced from intensely stressful situations in the PICU.
Prior to pursuing a career in nursing, Stevie earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a degree in interior design. She served as an accountant for the Baptist Memorial Health System in San Antonio and the Baylor Health System in Dallas. She also was licensed as an Interior Designer and owned a design business through which she assisted residential and commercial clients.
Stevie is married with one daughter who attends school in DISD. Stevie loves cooking, gardening, engaging in various art projects, and biking with her family on the White Rock trail.
