Ms. Gina Maffucci

Gina Maffucci grew up in Danbury, Connecticut, and attended American University in Washington, D.C. She moved to Dallas, TX in 2013 as part of Teach for America and began teaching reading at Balch Springs Middle School in Dallas ISD. Her journey led her to Kramer Elementary as a reading language arts and social studies teacher. While teaching at Kramer, she developed her practices in social-emotional learning and inquiry-based instruction. Ms. Maffucci earned her Master of Education from SMU in 2016. In 2017, she was recognized as a Dallas ISD finalist for Elementary Teacher of the Year. Ms. Maffucci served as a Campus Instructional Coach for three years at Ben Milam Elementary School. While serving as an Instructional Coach, Ms. Maffucci recognized her dedication to supporting teachers and creating a learning environment that develops the whole child which led her to complete her Principal Certification at UT Arlington. She was promoted to Assistant Principal at Ben Milam Elementary during the 2021-2022 school year. She will begin her 10th year in education as the founding Assistant Principal at Biomedical Preparatory.

Her vision for the school year is to build and grow the Biomedical Prep learning community. She aspires for all students to develop curiosity to explore the world around them and to grow as empathetic, resilient thinkers. In the innovative learning community at Biomedical Prep, she is excited to build a transformational teaching and learning environment for teachers and for students. She is looking forward to getting to know all students, parents, and stakeholders to help accomplish what is possible for students.
