Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am your school counselor, Mrs. Victoria Roth, and I just want to take a moment to give you an overview of what I will be doing this year to make sure that ALL students receive the best education possible.
A good education includes not only learning to read, write, and do math, but also includes learning good social skills. This means, among other things, learning how to get along with other children, making good decisions, controlling anger, accepting responsibility, and being aware of strengths and weaknesses. Many of these skills are taught at home. Here at school, I help reinforce these skills through classroom guidance lessons
I am also in the building to help students who are facing particular difficulties. Family disruptions such as an illness, death, or divorce may affect children’s concentration at school. If you have a particular concern about your child, I welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss the matter. In some situations, it might be necessary to make a referral to an outside agency. I can also help with that process.
It is important to remember that when school personnel and parents work together, it is a winning combination for children. All children deserve to be winners, and together we can help this goal to be realized.
If I can be of any assistance, you can make an appointment to meet with me by calling 972-925-1700, or by sending me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you and I look forward to working with your child!
