My name is Andrea Davis and I am the Pre-K through 2nd grade school counselor at George H. W. Bush Elementary. I am so excited to work alongside parents and the community to develop leaders in our school. Please contact
me with any questions or concerns you may have regarding the counseling and guidance services at Bush for Pre-K through 2nd grade.
Originally from California, I moved to Texas and fell in love with the great state of Texas. I attended The University of Texas at Austin, where I completed a bachelor’s in Social Work and then to The University of Texas at Arlington where I completed a Master’s in Social Work. I had the opportunity to work as a social worker at Bush during the 2016-2017 school year; and found a passion for serving this community and our students. I had the opportunity to teach at Bush as well. While I enjoyed my time in the classroom, my true passion is to focus on the whole child, working alongside them to discover their strengths and leadership skills so that they can achieve success. I am very excited to be able to serve the students and community in the role of a school counselor this year.
I am honored to be your 3rd-5th grade counselor at George Bush Elementary! I have worked for the Dallas Independent School District for over 17 years as a teacher in 4th grader, special education, and in the gifted and talented program.
I am a wife and mother of two wonderful little boys ages 5 and 17 months. I enjoy spending my free time in the company of family and friends. I try to make time for myself with activities that I love like listening to audio books on my long commutes to work, reading about health and wellness, and when I can, traveling and photography.
I believe that the true way to a child’s mind is first through their HEART. As your child’s counselor, I am partnering with you to make certain that your child is happy, healthy, and whole at school. I provide both individual and group counseling and will be giving classroom guidance lessons to all 3rd-5th grade students throughout the school year on social, emotional, and academic topics.
Education is an incredible journey, and I hope to be one of the many people in your child’s life that brings hope, guidance, and a loving light.
Please feel free to reach out to me and let me know how I can be of support to your child and your family.
