• Nathan Adams Elementary offers the Two Way Dual Language Program. It is a program that begins in Kindergarten and currently goes to 2nd grade.  The program will extend to the fifth grade by the year 2014-2015.

In this program, students from both language groups(native Spanish and native English speakers).   learn in two languages.  Students learn academic and cognitive skills at their grade level while they develop and acquire a second

language. As a result, students become bi-literate, able to read and write in two languages. It also accommodates parents’ wishes for language opportunities for their children.

The implementation of this program has proven effective in improving the academic and linguistic achievement (based on standardized test scores in reading, math and science) of both Spanish and English dominant students and the closing of the academic achievement gap for English language learners.

Nathan Adams Elementary also offers the One Way Dual Language Program. In this program, students from one language group learn in two languages.  This is the Bilingual program that the Dallas ISD implements serving English language learners.
