Ms. Bahena began her career in education as a substitute teacher in Mesquite ISD. A long term sub position quickly turned into a full time acceleration/small group support teacher position her first year. The year following her first year as an interventionist, she became the teacher of record to her first class teaching 3rd grade bilingual math and science. She also taught 2nd grade bilingual self- contained in Mesquite ISD before making the transition “back home” to Stephn C. Foster Elementary in Dallas where she grew up. Ms. Bahena graduated from Moises E. Molina High School in Oak Cliff and attended Dallas ISD schools for all of her elementary and Middle school years. She has a heart for the city of Dallas and loves working at Foster Elementary where she served for the last four years.
At Foster, she began as a kindergarten bilingual reading teacher, then taught 4th grade bilingual math and science while attending grad school at Texas A&M University-Commerce. She graduated with her Master’s degree in Educational Administration in May 2015 and received her Principal Certification that same summer. In the fall of 2015 she was promoted to the Math Instructional Coach Position at Foster Elementary and has been happily serving in that capacity ever since. Ms. Bahena is very passionate about her work and she is committed to the students, parents and staff that make up the Foster Community. She is very much looking forward to serving, learning and growing alongside all of you as your new Principal for the rest of the 2018-19 school year.
