• African American Female Success Initiative

The African American Female Success Initiative combines mentoring with supplemental activities to help students build a positive future. While the program targets African American girls, it is open to all female students in fourth and fifth grades.  Highland Meadows fifth grade teacher, Shonta Armstrong, is the group's mentor.  Mrs. Armstrong meets with the girls to support their academic, social, cultural, and emotional growth. They will also participate in a number of activities such as community service projects, trips to colleges, museums, and plays.

    Great News!

Mrs. Armstrong is pleased to announce that she received a $1000 grant from the African American Success Initiative.  Part of the grant will be used  to fund a book study with the girls in AAFSI.
