Specialty Schools and Programs
Students ages 5 to 21 who have not graduated from high school are entitled to a free public education in Dallas schools if they meet the age requirements for enrollment on Sept. 1. Below, you will find links to information that will assist you in the enrollment process.
- School Choice Options
Dallas ISD provides elementary, middle and high school parents and guardians with an opportunity to choose their child’s school that is best for them. Learn more about Public School Choice options and available school models. - Collegiate Academies
Collegiate academies are designed to serve incoming ninth-grade students who have the determination to attend college, are first-generation college students, and have been historically underrepresented in higher education. - Magnet Schools
The districts magnet school system is made of magnets for high school students, academies for middle school students, and vanguards for elementary school students. The schools provide career-oriented or specialized curriculum in addition to academic subjects. - Two-Way Dual Language
Dallas ISD is creating global citizens everyday by providing our students with the opportunity to learn two languages. English speakers can learn Spanish and Spanish speakers can learn English within a program called the “Two-Way Dual Language Program.” Learn which of our schools offer this exciting program. - Career Institutes
Expand career options for highly motivated students who want to enter the skilled trades and earn a living wage right out of high school. The institutes offer courses leading to certificates in areas such as aviation, plumbing, electrical, cybersecurity, construction and much more. - Student Transfers
