  • The cost to attend college varies by institution, but there are several sources of financial aid (money specifically for college) available to students. The primary way to find out what types of financial aid you are eligible to receive is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA).     After completing the FAFSA or TASFA, many students get selected for a process called verification. The verification process requires colleges and universitites to collect documentation from students to verify that the information provided on the FAFSA or TASFA is accurate.
