As you navigate through a new school year we realize that stress is inevitable. The best way to take care of your family is to take care of yourself first. Self-care looks different for everyone. Take time to practice self-care strategies to address your family's mental and health wellbeing. The following resources include healthy ways to relax, have fun, exercise, and socialize at home and with your family.

What is Social and Emotional Learning? / ¿Qué es el aprendizaje social y emocional?
SEL builds the skills, knowledge, and attitudes that both students and adults need to be successful in school, work, and life. They include things such as knowing and controlling your emotions, teamwork, understanding others, making positive choices, and resilience.
The Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL) has identified five core SEL competencies, including Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, and Responsible Decision-Making.
El aprendizaje social y emocional desarrolla las habilidades, los conocimientos y las actitudes que tanto los estudiantes como los adultos necesitan para tener éxito en la escuela, el trabajo y la vida. Incluyen aspectos como el conocimiento y el control de las emociones, el trabajo en equipo, la comprensión de los demás, la toma de decisiones positivas y la resiliencia.
La Colaboración para el Aprendizaje Académico, Social y Emocional (CASEL) ha identificado cinco competencias básicas de SEL, entre las que se encuentran la autoconciencia, el autocontrol, la conciencia social, las habilidades relacionales y la toma de decisiones responsable.
