Admission Policy / Política de admisión

  • (English) Skyline Early College High School (ECHS) is designed to admit incoming ninth-graders including, but not limited to, students who are:

    • Determined to attend college.
    • First Generation college students.
    • Historically underrepresented in higher education

    The academy will accept up to 125 ninth-grade students per year through a random lottery that includes students who are at risk or who are part of the targeted subpopulation for the Early College High School.

    Students will move together as a cohort as they progress through high school.

    Students will attend ninth and tenth grade at Skyline Early College High School in a dedicated wing of building A.  For their junior and senior years, students will attend classes at Dallas College Eastfield Campus. Transportation from Skyline High School to the college campus and college campus to Skyline High School will be provided at no charge.

    (Español) Skyline Early College está diseñada para admitir estudiantes que ingresan al noveno grado, incluyendo entre otros estudiantes que:

    • Están decididos a asistir a la universidad.
    • Son estudiantes universitarios de primera generación.
    • Son históricamente menos representativos en la educación universitaria.

    Skyline Early College aceptará hasta 125 estudiantes de noveno grado cada año por medio de una lotería al azar que incluye a estudiantes que están en riesgo o que son parte de las poblaciones específicas de una universidad temprana.

    Los estudiantes progresaran juntos como una cohorte a medida que avanzan en la escuela secundaria.

    Los estudiantes asistirán al noveno y décimo grado en Skyline High School en un ala dedicada del edificio A. En el onceavo y doceavo grado, los estudiantes asistirán a clases en el Eastfield campus de Dallas College. Se proporcionará transporte sin cargo desde Skyline al Eastfield campus y viceversa.

  • (English) Eighth-grade students who will be freshmen Fall 2023 may complete and submit an online application for Skyline ECHS. Students should select Skyline ECHS as first choice. Students can apply through January 31, 2024, and following an interview process, those who are accepted will be notified on March 1, 2024.

    (Español) Los estudiantes de octavo grado que serán estudiantes del noveno año en el otoño del 2023 pueden rellenar una solicitud en línea para Skyline ECHS. Se les pedirá a los estudiantes que seleccionen Skyline ECHS como su primera elección. Los estudiantes pueden postularse hasta el 31 de enero de 2024, y luego de un proceso de entrevista, los que sean aceptados serán notificados el 1 de marzo de 2024.
