North Dallas Names Carlos Perez Jr. as Athletic Coordinator, Head Football Coach
DALLAS – North Dallas High School named Carlos Perez Jr. as the school’s new athletic coordinator and head football coach. Perez has served as the school’s defensive coordinator, assistant head coach, and recruiting coordinator since April 2019.
With Perez coaching the defense, the 2020 and 2021 Bulldogs made back-to-back playoff appearances for the first time in school history. He also coached cornerback Mohammed Bility, who became the school’s first Division I signee in 20 years, when he signed with the University of North Texas in February.
As recruiting coordinator, Perez brought exposure for the school’s football athletes by welcoming more than 60 college coaches to North Dallas.
“The opportunity to be the head football coach at North Dallas is truly the dream job for me and my family,” Perez said. “I am excited to continue building on the momentum that has been started here. This community and these athletes are special, and I am looking forward to all the big things we will accomplish together. The future is bright for Bulldog Nation.”
Perez previously served as the defensive coordinator for Woodrow Wilson High School’s football program in 2018. He also coached defensive ends at McNeese State University (2015-17), outside linebackers at Navarro College (2014) and was the defensive line coach at the University of Saint Mary’s (2012-13) in Kansas.
While at McNeese State, Perez was named to the 2018 AFCA 35 under 35 coaches' list.
In 2011, Perez graduated from Oklahoma Panhandle State University with a bachelor’s degree in health, physical education, and recreation. He later earned a master’s degree in secondary education from the University of Saint Mary’s in 2014.
Perez will begin his new roles at North Dallas on Monday, May 9.
