Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Moves to In-Person Event March 31

The Dallas ISD Athletic Hall of Fame is returning to an in-person event for the first time since 2019 and will induct its 2022 class at the Arts District Mansion on Friday, March 31, 2023. A virtual ceremony was planned to take place Monday, December 5.

“We are excited to meet in person to celebrate the accomplishments and careers of the seven individuals that make up the 2022 class,” said Dallas ISD Executive Director of Athletics, Silvia Salinas. “It was unfortunate we ever had to hold the event virtually, but we can’t wait to welcome a new class and physically shake their hands.”

Included in the new class is former Superintendent Dr. Michael Hinojosa, as well as Jerry Heidenreich, Norman Jett, Elsie Moreno, Kevin Murray, Reginald Samples and Spud Webb.

This is the fifth class of the Dallas ISD Athletic Hall of Fame, which inducted its first class in 2018. The first two classes were inducted during in-person events, while the inductions of the 2020 and 2021 classes were inducted virtually due to the pandemic. Those classes will also be celebrated at the 2023 event.

The 2023 ceremony is currently slated to be invitation only. No tickets will be sold to the general public.
