Postseason Volleyball Wrapup: Nine Teams Reached Playoffs
The Carter, South Oak Cliff and Woodrow Wilson volleyball teams each won their respective UIL districts. Carter was the 11-4A champion, South Oak Cliff won District 12-5A, and Woodrow Wilson was the 11-5A champion.
Hillcrest senior Clare Dusek was the MVP of District 11-5A. Golden Bears’ senior Paige McGee was the district 12-5A MVP, and Cartersenior RaKayla Jones was the 12-4A MVP. Hillcrest head coach Diana Davis, South Oak Cliff’s Danielle Dawson and Carter’s De’Anna Jones were their district’s coach of the year.
Nine South Oak Cliff players earned first- or second-team all-district honors, while eight Carter players earned first- or second-team laurels. Woodrow Wilson and Hillcrest each placed seven players on the top two district teams.

Nine Dallas ISD volleyball teams qualified for the playoffs in 2021, including Adamson, Carter, Hillcrest, Lincoln, Molina, North Dallas, Roosevelt, South Oak Cliff, and Woodrow Wilson. Woodrow Wilson and Hillcrest, the 11-5A runner up, claimed bi-district championships.
