Eighteen Dallas ISD Wrestlers Qualify for State Championships

Dallas ISD is sending 14 wrestlers and four alternates to compete at the 2023 Wrestling State Championships Feb. 17-18 at the Berry Center in Cypress, Texas in suburban Houston.

Nine different high schools had wrestlers qualify based on their finishes at last weekend’s regional competition. Bryan Adams, Hillcrest, South Oak Cliff and Woodrow Wilson had boys wrestlers advance to state, while on the girls side, Conrad, Hillcrest, Kimball, Pinkston, Samuell, Skyline and Woodrow Wilson will have athletes at state.

Hillcrest had a pair of wrestlers win regional championships last week. Senior Clarence Sanders won at 285 pounds, while senior Mercedes Fuentes won at 235 pounds.

Ticket prices are $25 for all sessions or $15 for a single session. All seating is general admission. Tickets are available for Friday and Saturday.
