The community and students served by David W. Carter High School can look forward to the start of renovations and additions at the campus in March 2018.
Plans call for a number of improvements to the Oak Cliff campus that will substantially update the look of the school inside and out. Exterior enhancements will include a new, expanded front entry, a reconfigured bus drop off area, parking lot lighting and fencing, landscape improvements, removal of portable classrooms, and window and roof replacements.
Inside, there will be new administrative offices, a 1900-seat competition gym, a storm shelter, a new fine arts addition, renovation of science labs and the auditorium, corridors, classrooms, the auxiliary gym and locker rooms.
