Bond Program improvements enhance district athletic facilities

Newly refinished tennis courts, updated scoreboards and audio systems, new turf and lighting and press box upgrades are some of the improvements in the works for district athletic facilities. Already, the 2015 Bond Program has provided a facelift to facilities across the district, and future upgrades are planned.  The 2015 Bond Program has funded $40 million in total program costs* for a variety of athletic facility improvements, including: 

Resurfaced High School Tennis Courts at virtually every comprehensive high school

Alfred J. Loos Athletic Complex

  • Football field lighting, scoreboard with audio, bleacher painting, concession stand ADA site work, press box improvements;
  • New turf and track resurfacing;
  • Gymnasium lighting improvements and video scoreboard with audio;

Sprague Complex

  • Football field lighting, scoreboard with audio, and improvements to fencing, concession stands and press box; New baseball field turf, lighting, bleacher refurbishments, concession stands and press box;

Jesse Owens Memorial Complex

  • New video scoreboard with audio
  • Football field lighting
  • Gymnasium lighting, video scoreboard with audio
  • Track and field turf installation

Forester Athletic Complex

  • Football field lighting, scoreboard with audio, fencing, press box renovation, and turf replacement
  • Gymnasium lighting, bleacher refurbishment, scoreboard with audio
  • Track replacement, timer box, and additional bleachers
  • Softball field turf installation for three fields, lighting, and drainage work

Pleasant Grove Stadium

  • Football field lighting, scoreboard with audio, bleacher painting, track replacement with turf installation, ticket booth, timer’s box, lighting, scoreboard with audio, and additional bleachers;
  • Baseball turf installation with bullpen/dugouts, lighting, scoreboard, new bleachers, and press box:
  • Additional facilities receiving improvements include P.C. Cobb Athletic Complex and Seagoville Stadium
