MAP Assessment
Hello Parents,
We are so excited to start the school year on Tuesday, September 8. We know this year will be unlike any other, but we are committed to providing your student the best learning experience. As you know it’s been a while since we’ve last seen or engaged with our students. This year, we plan on administering beginning-of-the-year assessments, for every student. Please see the attachment "MAP Growth Parent Guide." We need your help by bringing your student to campus one day for a few hours, in September. We will follow all safety and social distancing protocols, and students will be in small groups. The assessment helps us understand exactly where your student is academically.
If a student does not have transportation to Booker T., transportation shuttles will be provided for students to their Dallas ISD zoned high school only; transportation is not provided for Magnet schools. Students testing on the Booker T campus will need to be dropped off or they can park in the J Lot. Parents will not be allowed to enter or wait inside the school.
Freshmen will test on Monday, September 21st. Sophomores will test on Tuesday, September 22nd, and Juniors will test on Thursday, September 24th. There will be no testing on Wednesday, September 23rd! Students will need to arrive between 8:30am - 8:50am at their designated student entrance (TBA in next communication). Testing will be from 9am - Noon. As students complete testing, they will be allowed to leave but must leave campus immediately. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on the assigned testing day.
Students are not required to come in-person and can be assessed remotely, but we highly encourage every student to physically come in.
*Please note: when students test remotely (at home) outside of the NWEA app or icon, they may experience more difficulties with pop-ups and the test kicking students out.
*For remote testing, Parents will need to familiarize themselves with the process and be able to set everything up on the computer.
