Save the Date! May 5, 2 p.m. -- Book discussion with longtime Dallas journalist Jim Schutze

BTW students and parents are invited to participate in a student-moderated virtual discussion of the book The Accommodation by longtime Dallas news reporter Jim Schutze.
Here, too, is a link to two recent stories about the book — one a D Magazine piece reporting on CBS Morning coverage of the fact that it’s set for reprint later this year, and one a link to a story about discussions on who will voice the audio book.
All AP Language students have been reading this book, which chronicles the history of systemic racism in North Texas, and will be writing and participating in a Socratic seminar on its contents between now and our May 5 book talk, which will take place on Zoom.
This is a tremendous opportunity for all of our BTWHSPVA students to read and meet the author of a book on institutional racism here in Dallas now gaining a new nationwide audience.
Melody Townsel is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
