Six Visual Arts students received awards in the 2017 Young American Talent (YAT) competition.
First Place Award Winners: Natalie Crenwelge & Juliet Nelson
Six Visual Arts students received awards in the 2017 Young American Talent (YAT) competition. The students and their awards are: Natalie Crenwelge, first place/ceramics; Juliet Nelson, first place/fiber; Gabriela Noriega, second place/drawing; Taylor Jenkins, second place/jewelry; Simon Waranch, third place/sculpture; Eileen Loera, third place/mixed media and third place/ceramics.
In total, 19 Booker T. Washington students were juried in to the show with a collective 22 works. This year a record 799 submissions were received for the YAT competition. The award-winning works, in addition to other selected finalists, are on exhibit now through April 27 at Dallas City Hall for the YAT Encore Exhibit.
