New leaders of the Academic Conservatory
As part of the Strategic Plan 2022 and with respect to the establishment of the academic departments as one of the original "clusters” of the school, a formal “Academic Conservatory” was established to underscore the importance of our academic departments in the development of our scholar artists.
The new leaders of the Academic Conservatory are:
The Director and Assistant Director will serve in similar capacities as those positions in the arts conservatories and will be responsible for meeting regularly with the chairs and assistant chairs of the four academic departments. Specific roles are as follows:

Serve as instructional leaders for the Language and Literature, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies departments of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts by providing instructional coaching and support for all academic classrooms.

Represent the interests of new and existing academic programs.

Promote a balance between arts and academics for all students both through service as a liaison between arts and academic faculty.

Create and deliver relevant and high-quality professional development in academic arts integration.
