Teacher Spotlight: Working Hard to Make a Difference

Rosundra Taylor

As many teachers took a summer break to recoup from a very different and stressful spring semester, Rosundra Taylor-Smith stayed active within Dallas ISD CTE as a Summer Intern Coordinator. She spent hours working with our summer interns and communicating with employers to keep everyone on track and prosperous.

Rosundra has taught in Dallas ISD for 9 years. She is extremely active at David W. Carter High School serving as the DECA Sponsor, NAF Internship Coordinator, Collegiate Facilitator, JV Cheer Coach/Majorette Sponsor, and running the DECA School Store. This past year she taught Accounting I, Banking & Financial Services, Global Business, and Practicum of Business Management. She also has experience teaching Accounting II, A/V Tech, BIM, Digital Media, and Principles of Business, Marketing, & Finance.

Before teaching, Rosundra spent her college years in the piney woods of east Texas at Stephen F. Austin State University majoring in Finance while obtaining her Bachelor of Business Administration. This led to 15 years working at Nestle Waters Business Retail Department as a Deduction Analyst, Sales Analyst, and Business Analyst. She has since received her Masters of Education in CTE Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University Portland.

When asked what she loves most about teaching, Rosundra feels that “being a servant-leader with the ability to share my knowledge and making a positive difference in someone’s life.”
