Teacher Spotlight: Jennifer Sanders

Jennifer Sanders School of Business and Management at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center

Jennifer Sanders is the Cluster Coordinator at the School of Business and Management at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center in Dallas ISD. Her role includes teaching courses in the Accounting and Financial Services Program of Study, collaborating with teachers to develop career pathways, and supporting student initiatives and organizations, especially CTSOs.

Jennifer has a history of CTSO involvement beginning in high school. While enrolled at the Business and Management Center, she was an active member of DECA through which she both engaged in competitions and served as a state officer. Now, as a teacher for her high school alma mater, Jennifer has served as an advisor for Business Professionals of America since 2003. She has had winners at every competitive level. Jennifer also kept students engaged this year by having 20 students qualify for state competition along with an additional 7 alternate awards!

Jennifer’s professional background includes approximately ten years in corporate Accounting and nearly twenty years in secondary/post-secondary education. Jennifer earned a BBA in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame (1992). Additionally, she has earned a Masters in Accounting from Dallas Baptist University (2019) where she also completed a certificate in Curriculum and Instruction. Jennifer has been married for 26 years to David O. Sanders, Jr., a retired educator. Their daughter, Elisabeth, is pursuing a Marketing degree through the University of North Texas-Denton.
