Student Spotlight: Xavier Mathis
SkillsUSA Chapter President
It's finally here! SkillsUSA Week 2021 will be observed February 7 - 13, 2021.
During this week, this Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) will promote career and technical education through a variety of programs and activities at both the state and local levels. Student Xavier Mathis, SkillsUSA chapter president at the Charmaine and Robert Price, Sr. Career Institute – South, has made great strides to promote SkillsUSA under the direction of the Architecture CTE teacher Mr. Carlton Williams. As a current freshman student, he has successfully completed the OSHA 10 certification which introduces occupational safety and health issues and continues to lead his chapter members adequately during the pandemic. As an activity to promote SkillsUSA Week, on Wednesday, February 11th, this CTSO will host a virtual career panel with guests who will discuss careers on the Interior Design program of study.
