Recently Amended DIA Regulation - March 4, 2020

On March 4, 2020 the Superintendent of Schools’ Designee approved amendment of the following regulation:

DIA (REGULATION) EMPLOYEE WELFARE – FREEDOM FROM DISCRIMINATION, HARASSMENT, AND RETALIATION

DIA (REGULATION) was brought forward by the Administration to align with current practice and protocol.  Below are the details of the changes:

 

Page 1: A new section Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation and associated language has been added.


Page 1: A new section Harassment and revised language regarding examples of harassment has been added from DIA(LOCAL).


Page 1: A new section Sexual Harassment and revised language regarding examples of sexual harassment has been added from DIA(LOCAL).


Page 1: A new section Retaliation and revised language regarding examples of retaliation has been added from DIA(LOCAL).


Page 1: A new section Procedures for Reporting Prohibited Acts and revised language regarding reporting alleged acts has been added from DIA(LOCAL).


Page 1: A new section District Representatives and associated language has been added.


Page 1: The section Title IX Coordinator and the first paragraph have been deleted.

Page 1: A new subsection Title VII and Title IX Representative has been added to Carma Hoskins. In this subsection, the position information has been deleted, and the email information has been added for the Title VII and Title IX representative.

Page 2: The section ADA Coordinator and Section 504 Coordinator and the first paragraph have been deleted.

Page 2: A new subsection Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Representative has been added to Valerie Robertson. In this subsection, the position information has been deleted, and the email information has been added for the ADA representative.

Page 2: In the title for subsection Section 504 Coordinator, “coordinator” has been deleted and replaced with “representative.” In this subsection, the position information has been deleted, and the email information has been added for the Section 504 representative.

Page 2: The subsection Title VII Coordinator and associated language has been deleted.

Page 2: Under section District Representatives, after the Section 504 contact information, language regarding the reporting structure for allegations against the District’s representatives with a reference to DH(REGULATION) has been added as the last paragraph.

Page 3: The following sections and associated language have been added from DIA(LOCAL): Appeal and Records Retention.

Page 3: A new section Access to Policy and revised language has been added from DIA(LOCAL).

Page 3: In the section Adoption or Last Amendment Date, “adopted” has been deleted and replaced with “last amended,” and the date has been deleted.

 

The above item has been sent to the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) for inclusion to the District’s “Policy On Line Manual.” Documents generally will post within a few weeks of adoption.
