On September 17, 2021, the Superintendent of Schools’ Designee approved amendment of the following regulation:
DEC (REGULATION) was brought forward by the Administration to align with current practice and protocol and in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Below are the details of the changes:
Pages 4-5: A new section Leave and Benefit Program Assistance has been added to provide contact information for the Benefits Call Center and the Benefits Department for specific leaves and programs.
Page 5: Under section Emergency Paid Sick Leave, “additional leave,” including the period, has been struck from the first sentence in order to combine with the second sentence. In the second sentence, “which” has been added after (EPSL), and “a COVID-related illness has been struck and replaced with “the employee’s positive COVID test result.”
Page 5: Under section COVID Vaccine Leave, “up until November 15, 2021, an” has been added, and “an” has been struck.
Page 9: Under section Administrative Leave, a second paragraph with contact information for Employee Relations has been added.
Page 10: Under section Mandatory Employee Assistance Program, “leave” has been added at the end of the section title.
Page 11: A new subsection Police Officer Mental Health Leave has been added to address police officer mental health.
Page 13: Under section Adoption or Last Amendment Date, the date has been struck. The new effective date is September 17, 2021.
Page 13: The second endnote referencing the Benefits Department webpage has been deleted, and an endnote referencing the Employee Relations webpage has been added.
The above item has been sent to the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) for inclusion to the District’s “Policy On Line Manual.” Documents generally will post within a few weeks of adoption.
