Who is Eligible?
Dallas ISD offers both free and tuition-based Pre-K programs. For both programs, a child must be three- or four-years-old on or before September 1, 2018 to be eligible.
Any four-year-old can enroll in tuition-based Pre-K. To learn how to register for tuition Pre-K, click here.
Children can attend Dallas ISD Pre-K for free, without paying tuition, if they meet at least ONEof the following requirements:
- The child is eligible to take part in the national free or reduced-price school lunch program. To find out if your child is eligible, click here.
- The child is unable to speak and comprehend the English language.
- The child is homeless.
- The child is a dependent of an active duty member of the U.S. armed forces.
- The child is or has been in foster care.
- The child is a dependent of a recipient of the Star of Texas Award.
Again, they only have to meet ONE of these requirements to qualify for free Pre-K. If you do not qualify for free Pre-K, you can still enroll your child in the tuition-based Pre-K program.
