Helping Hands

Acts of Compassion & Athletic Passion

 September 8, 2017

Kimball students are encouraged to make a difference. Proven by recent acts of kindness, there is no doubt that Kimball is developing strong leaders who operate in compassion. The Academy of Hospitality & Tourism faculty were approached by students to launch an all-school drive to collect items to donate to those who were impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Upon approval, grass did not grow under their feet. Immediately, boxes were positioned in the auditorium and announcements were made to solicit the help of the entire school. We also extend the invitation to our surrounding community to join in our cause by bringing their donations to the school.

In addition, EIF and Kimball Troubs worked together to sponsor two young ladies who were devastated by the loss of their mother during the floods of Harvey. To add to their plight, their father is in Kuwait. Words cannot explain how happy the two young ladies were to receive so much support. This was just round one of donations since the need was immediate. We extend the invitation again for our community to join forces in gathering another round of support.

Kimball is not only breeding grounds for stirring up acts of compassion, but there is a strong drive of athletic passion as well. Kimball’s Cross Country Coach, Scarlett Tandy, reported victory from their competition held on Saturday, September 2, 2017. Please congratulate the following students:
