Congrats to Truett Elementary student Laura Romero who aced the ACP tests. Laura made a perfect score—an incredible accomplishment!
Jewell Sterling, a student in Hillcrest High School’s Academy of Engineering, has earned national recognition for her project that encourages healthier habits at school. Sterling has received an all-expense paid trip for her and a parent to fly to New York City to meet with Daymond John, the creator of FUBU and current Shark Tank judge.
Academy of Engineering students at the School of Science and Engineering Magnet were among those who met with Verizon’s engineering leadership team to demonstrate their senior projects and share business product ideas, Shark Tank-style. Students received immediate on-the-spot coaching from Verizon engineers, the friendly sharks, to take their concept to the next level.
Special thanks to Rosemont’s Dad’s Club and the PTA for their efforts to bring a Sensory Room to the school. The room provides a unique space for students with special needs. Thanks to everyone who made this possible.
Congratulations to the 28 teams from across the district advancing to the Destination Imagination state competition, which will be held in April. Dallas ISD had 28 of the 33 teams advancing.
