Big D Reads 2015 Selection
South Oak Cliff High School Library participated for the
third straight year in the “Big D Reads” with the cooperation and support
of Ms. Goree, home principal, Mr.
Joseph, our principal, ninth grade students, faculty, staff and security.
Big Read is sponsored by D Magazine, members of the D
Academy, the National Endowment for the Arts, along with educators, supporters
and leaders from all over the city of Dallas.
All ninth grade students attended the assembly on April 8, 2015 in the
South Oak Cliff High School Auditorium.
Two of our faculty members styled their western attire showing the
attire that was worn during the making of “True Grit”, Mr. Ingram and Ms.
Linson. The students saw a video
presentation of readers of
“True Grit and received an individual copy of the novel, True Grit”, selected
for the Big D Reads of 2015.”
