Raymie Venable

Raymie Venable is entering her 8th year as a principal and 20th year in education. She is excited to be surrounded by an amazing group of innovative educators who are devoted to leading the way in personalized learning instruction for all of our students.  After spending the first years of her teaching career in Dallas, she served in the roles of teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal in two neighboring districts. She was excited to return to Dallas ISD last year to lead the transformation of Sam Houston Elementary to a personalized learning campus. This is a dream come true for Ms. Venable!  As PL Prep continues to push the envelope and place what is best for every student in the forefront of every decision, she is excited to engage all stakeholders in the transformation of education for our community.

Dr. Ashley Belton

Dr. Ashley Belton  will serve as the assistant principal at Personalized Learning Preparatory at Sam Houston. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communication from the University of Houston, Dr. Belton began her career as an elementary teacher.  Once she gained experience with various leadership positions, she earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University and a doctoral degree in Education Administration from The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Before becoming an assistant principal, she had the opportunity to serve as a special education teacher, dyslexia interventionist, fourth and fifth grade support teacher, and dean of students. Dr. Belton looks forward to working with our students, teachers, parents, and community as we create a learning environment where all students attain academic success.

Norma Perez

Mrs. Norma Perez is returning to Dallas ISD after serving 5 years as an assistant principal in a neighboring district and with a total of 22 years in education.  She earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Puerto Rico and a master's degree in School Administration from Lamar University.  Mrs. Perez has served in the roles of second through fifth grade bilingual teacher, reading specialist, instructional specialist, and assistant principal.  She values spending time with her family, running, and she is an avid learner about innovative instructional programs.  She feels honored to have the amazing opportunity of becoming part of a school that celebrates diversity, student voice, and excellence for every student.

 

La Sra. Norma Pérez está regresando a Dallas ISD después de haber servido por 5 años como subdirectora en un distrito vecino y cuenta con 22 años de experiencia en el ámbito educativo.  Ella obtuvo su licenciatura en la Universidad de Puerto Rico y su maestría en Administración de Escuelas en Lamar University.  La Sra. Pérez ha trabajado como maestra bilingüe de segundo a quinto grado, como especialista en lectura y especialista en instrucción y  como subdirectora.  Ella valora el tiempo que pasa con su familia, le gusta correr, y le encanta aprender sobre programas innovadores de educación.  Ella se siente honrada de tener la increíble oportunidad de ser parte de una escuela que celebra la diversidad, la voz de los estudiantes y la excelencia de cada estudiante.

Tia Fuentes

Mrs. Tia Fuentes has been with Dallas Independent School District since 2016. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in Early Childhood Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Leadership, focusing on Leader Development from Walden University. Mrs. Fuentes has previously been a teacher, Mentor, Educational Specialist and a Training Manager. She was in cohort 2 of Dallas ISD’s Innovation in Teaching Fellowship. Mrs. Fuentes feels that every child deserves to have the best education provided to them in their own personal way.

Lee Cunningham

Mrs. Lee Cunningham has been with Dallas Indepdendent School District since 2018.  She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary and Special Education from Indiana University, and her Masters of Education in Language and Literacy from Lesley University.  Mrs. Cunningham taught elementary levels for seven years before becoming a Campus Instructional Coach.

Hello! My name is Amy Blasingame and I'm excited to be your counselor at Personalized Learning Preparatory at Sam Houston. This will be my 19th year in education. I have been in counseling for the past 12 years and have served as an elementary, middle, and special education counselor. Prior to being a counselor, I served as an elementary teacher for 7 years. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Education at Texas Christian University and my Master's degree in Counseling at University of North Texas. I am looking forward to collaborating with families and staff to help guide students towards a greater understanding of social-emotional awareness, academic goal-setting, career and character development.
